5 Easy Natural Remedies to Remove Skin Tags

Summer is here, which means short sleeve shirts shorts, and summer dresses.

Uh-oh.

Are you suffering from embarrassing skin tags and afraid to show some skin with cool new summer threads? Before spending money on pricey medical procedures to have them removed, consider trying some cost effective, easy, natural remedies to remove them. While they won’t get rid of them in a day like medical procedures, they are safe and have no risk of unhealthy side effects. Natural removal of skin tags is the safest, easiest way to get rid of them effectively.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Using apple cider vinegar has been successful for many people to remove unwanted skin tags. The vinegar has a high level of acidic content which destroys the tissue inside the skin tag. Due to the high acidic content, it can sting and cause some discomfort. Make sure you are ready for this side effect before starting the procedure.

To use the vinegar, simply wash off the skin with soap and lukewarm water, then soak two tablespoons of the apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball and swab it on the affected area.

Lemon Juice

Much like the vinegar, lemon juice has a high level of citric acid that helps the skin tag decompose. While it is effective, it can also cause discomfort so be sure you are ready for the side effect. Another side effect to be aware of is the effect suntan will have on your skin. If the juice isn’t washed off before going outside it can cause an uneven tan so make sure it is all washed off before going outside.

To use lemon juice, simply clean off the affected area, then squeeze the juice out of half a lemon onto a cotton ball and apply.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil works a little different from the previous two. Instead of killing off the skin tag, the oil drys it from the inside out. Then it can safely and easily be removed at home. Keep in mind that the oil should not be ingested. While it is perfectly natural and safe used topically, it can be toxic if ingested. This method is easy and painless.

To use the oil, clean the affected area, soak a cotton ball in lukewarm water and gently squeeze out the excess, apply two or three drops of tea tree oil to the cotton ball, then massage it into the skin tag. Do this three times a day.

Essential Oil Blends

Instead of trying to make the remedy yourself, you’d be better off using safe skin tag products made from essential oil blends. These products are a mixture of some of the methods of removal listed here (for example, the lemon juice) with other essential oils to allow for easy application and safe removal of skin tags. The best part is that they are small enough to fit in your purse, so if you are out and about you can take your treatment with you.

Banana Peel

Don’t throw those banana peels away just yet! Instead of creating waste with unused peels, cut off a small square of it and apply the inside of the peel to the skin tag, then bandage it overnight. Do this for a few days until your skin tag falls off. The up side, you are using something that was otherwise useless. The down side, you will probably have the smell of rotten bananas in your skin for a couple of weeks.

These are just a few of the commonly used remedies for skin tag removal. Keep in mind that what you eat affects the overall health of your skin, so find out what foods to avoid eating for healthier skin.
